Sometimes you need a little inspiration, some fresh ideas and a kick in the butt to get moving. Surprise! We’re bringing all three of those things to you today!!
Here are our favorite ways to increase productivity…
Get outside + play
Being an entrepreneur means you have the freedom to do weekend-like activities on a Wednesday, if you want. Take a nice loooooooong lunch break and do something you love. Get out of your head. Have coffee with a friend. Exercise. Get a change of scenery. These are the times when we get our best ideas! Maybe the same is true for you? A surf sesh can do wonders for your mind, soul and productivity. You’ll get back to the office and be ready to conquer your to-do list in a jiffy.
Game-ify your work
There are certain items on your to-do list you never want to do. Am I right? And they keep getting pushed to the bottom of the list and they keep NAGGING at you. Try this: You aren’t allowed to do the fun/easy/creative/exciting tasks until you finish the ones that have been nagging at you. Make it a game with a nice reward. If you do the blah tasks first, then you get to do the fun ones, THEN you get to go on a bike ride or buy yourself some fresh flowers 🙂
Start a morning routine
This is our cure all for EVERYTHING. Having a morning routine will literally change your life in so many incredible ways. (Don’t have one yet? CLICK HERE to see what it’s all about.) But since we’re talking about productivity, know this: Strengthening your mindset is so key as a creative business owner. The more self-aware and confident you are, the faster you’ll make decisions and be able to get through projects. You’ll be more focused. You’ll accomplish more. It’s as easy as that.
Plan a trip
We all love to travel, so this one is a no-brainer. Get a road trip or weekend getaway on the calendar ASAP and often. It’s funny how quickly we’ll work and finish tasks when we need to get out the door for a vacation! How long does _______ goal take for you to finish? Only as long as you give yourself to finish it!! Fill your calendar with adventures and your productivity will skyrocket.
Get some accountability
This might be the RescueTime app that keeps track of where you’re spending time online. It’s a rude awakening when they email you saying you spent 20% of your work time on Facebook!!! You could also make a deal with an entrepreneur friend of yours (CLICK HERE to meet some incredible gutsy go-getters) to check in on each other and help hold each other accountable to your goals. Or, start a mastermind group. Better yet, get yourself a business coach 😉
All of these things will help you be way less distracted, way more productive and BONUS!, way less overwhelmed. Give them a whirl.
